William Cordeiro

Will Cordeiro is the author of Trap Street (Able Muse, 2021) and Whispering Gallery (DUMBO Press, 2024). Will’s work appears in journals such as 32 Poems, AGNI, Bennington Review, Baltimore Review, Best New Poets, Copper Nickel, Cimarron Review, RHINO, Penn Review, Pleiades, and The Threepenny Review. Will is founding coeditor of the small press Eggtooth Editions. Will is also the lead grant writer and executive board member of the Northern Arizona Book Festival. With Lawrence Lenhart, Will coauthored Experimental Writing: A Writer’s Guide and Anthology (Bloomsbury Academic, 2024) and the forthcoming New Foundations of Creative Writing (Bloomsbury Academic, 2026). They have also cowritten a rock opera, Pop Goes the Ferret, which was produced through the ARTx Festival at the Coconino Center for the Arts in Flagstaff, Arizona, in May 2024. The production and text won a 2025 Viola Award for Storytelling.

Artist Statement:

My work--literary and otherwise--spans different forms, genres, and media. It ranges from traditional to experimental. I have experience with plays, poetry, fiction, nonfiction, journalism, hybrid, and academic writing; and I have taught workshops for a wide range of universities and community institutions. I'm venturesome, and I'm always looking to push my own boundaries, engage in collaboration, and work on new projects!
