I was born and raised in Wheeling, West Virginia, and have always been interested in art and art history. I received my BA and MA degrees in Near Eastern Archeology at the University of Arizona which continued my fascination with Near Eastern art while working on numerous archeological excavations in Jordan, Israel and Egypt.

After I retired I returned my interest back to art and decided to “make” art while continuing my interest in all visual arts. I took lessons at The Drawing Studio in Tucson then studied with many renowned artists both in the classroom and in workshops located in Spain, Tucson and Tubac, Arizona.

I enjoy painting in many different media which include pastels, watercolor, oil and acrylics. My subjects vary from animals, still life’s, people, abstracts and landscapes. I am honored to have had my paintings shown and sold in numerous galleries in Tucson and Scottsdale.

I am a member of the International Association of Pastel Society and the Tucson Pastel Society.

Artist Statement:

Painting is my happy place and my favorite medium is the one in which I am using at the moment. My goal is to continue to capture the beauty of the world and to bring a smile to the observer of my work.
