The Road Ahead celebrates the highly original work created by adult artists with developmental disabilities. Four venues in the United States that serve adults with development disabilities with art programs have partnered to develop this unique traveling exhibition. This includes Flagstaff’s own Hozhoni Foundation.

The exhibition will open with a Members’ Preview Reception on Saturday, August 20, 2016, 6-8pm. The following weekend will be the Public Opening Reception on Saturday, August 27, 6–8pm. There will be live music, hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. The participating artists from Flagstaff will be in attendance.

The Road Ahead first opened in September 2015 at Sophie’s Gallery in El Cajon, California. It then traveled to Chicago’s Project Onward where it opened February 2016. Next, the show travels to Rapid City, South Dakota, where it opens in May 2016. Finally, the show will come to Flagstaff, Arizona and Coconino Center for the Arts.

The Road Ahead will be open at Coconino Center for the Arts on Tuesday, August 23 through Saturday, October 29, 2016.
