The Flagstaff Arts Council has partnered with Art 35º North to bring Northern Arizona an unprecedented exhibition of artists from the Colorado Plateau. The exhibition, A New Latitude, will feature artwork by regional artists, and serve as a preview of the Art 35º North studio tour set for June 2016.
The diverse exhibition will feature a variety of new art by participating artists. Work will include paintings, photography, ceramics, sculpture, textile art, jewelry and more.
The opening reception is set for Thursday, June 9, 2016, from 6-8pm, with live music, food and cash bar. Most of the participating artists will be in attendance.
A New Latitude will be open at the Coconino Center for the Arts from June 11 – August 6, 2016.
In the Project Gallery, Moments of Peace features paintings from emerging Flagstaff artists Kayley Quick, Amorell Demmert, Kory Miller and sculpture from McKenzie Dankert. Each artist takes a unique approach to capturing their understanding of peace through acrylic paint or sculpture. The scenery of the Jewel Gallery will showcase complimentary murals alongside the paintings. The beautiful and strong performers of Flagstaff Aerial Arts will also be showcased in an aerial performance that compliments the work featured at the opening reception.
