SUMMARY:Astrophotography Workshop with Angela Yamauchi
DESCRIPTION:This two-part workshop will consist of a beginner’s classroom session followed by a field session. The classroom session will cover the basics of planning\, equipment\, camera settings\, composition\, and post-processing for astrophotography\, with a focus on capturing images of the Milky Way. After a break\, participants will meet at Buffalo Park to practice photographing the night sky. \n\nSchedule:\n5:00-6:00pm : Beginner’s class at Coconino Center for the Arts. Bring your camera if you have one (recommended but not required). Maximum 12 participants\, reservation required.\n7:00-8:30pm: Field session at Buffalo Park. We will meet at the ramada before a short walk to a shooting location. Bring a camera (with manual mode)\, tripod\, red light (red headlamp is recommended)\, and warm clothing. Open to all experience levels\, no reservation required.\n\nArtist Bio\nAngela Yamauchi is a Flagstaff-based artist and photographer. She also works as a patent agent and has a formal education and background in science and engineering\, with additional study in visual arts\, reflecting her long-standing interest in the convergence of art and science. Her work includes night sky\, landscape\, and nature photography. She has participated in exhibitions in Arizona and California\, and her work is available locally at Lowell Observatory.
