SUMMARY:Christine Cassano: QUADRIVIUM
DESCRIPTION:CHRISTINE CASSANO: QUADRIVIUM \nJune 29 – September 28\, 2024 in the Project Gallery \nQUADRIVIUM is a sound instrument as well as a soundscape installation. A light push from the hand engages the forty-nine suspended bronze pieces to play sound and create a mediative environment—a space where matter\, energy and vibration connect. The installation can be experienced by walking around it\, sitting nearby or by laying back on the seated platform underneath it. Its title\, “Quadrivium” is the Latin word meaning “where four roads meet—a crossroads” and references a curriculum established during the Renaissance era consisting of four subjects: Arithmetic\, Geometry\, Harmonics & Astronomy.
