SUMMARY:Christine Cassano: QUADRIVIUM
DESCRIPTION:CHRISTINE CASSANO: QUADRIVIUM \nJune 29 – September 28\, 2024 in the Project Gallery \nQUADRIVIUM is a sound instrument as well as a soundscape installation. A light push from the hand engages the forty-nine suspended bronze pieces to play sound and create a mediative environment—a space where matter\, energy and vibration connect. The installation can be experienced by walking around it\, sitting nearby or by laying back on the seated platform underneath it. Its title\, “Quadrivium” is the Latin word meaning “where four roads meet—a crossroads” and references a curriculum established during the Renaissance era consisting of four subjects: Arithmetic\, Geometry\, Harmonics & Astronomy. SUMMARY:Jayne Lee Performance Monsoon
DESCRIPTION:Learn More\n\n\n\n\n\nJayne Lee Performance Monsoon \nJune 29\, 2024 \n\nBorn in Wales\, Jayne trained in London at The Place\, and at The Juilliard School in NYC\, and has danced and choreographed for London Contemporary Dance Theatre for 10 years. Jayne moved to Flagstaff to become a Grand Canyon River Guide and still guides river trips in the summers. Monsoon is a solo performance piece created after a particularly impressive monsoon season in Grand Canyon. The piece is directly inspired by an event in which there were waterfalls pouring off the steep Muav walls and the river and side streams swelled massively in volume and turned a thick\, dark red brown. Thunder cracked and echoed through the canyon\, we humans felt small and insignificant.
