Instructor: Gwen Waring
Date/Time: Sunday, October 20, 2:30-6 pm
Location: Hart Prairie Preserve
Join local artist and ecologist Gwen Waring for a fall painting workshop at Hart Prairie, in partnership with the Nature Conservancy! As participants explore the vibrant hues of the aspen leaves set against the San Francisco Peaks, they will refine their observational skills through art.
This late afternoon session will offer beautiful views of the Peaks while painting in the prairie. Attendees will meet at the Nature Conservancy entrance at 2:45 pm, followed by a brief walk to find the ideal spot.
Each participant should bring a simple setup, including paints, brushes, a sketch pad, a stool or chair, water, snacks, and a jacket if needed. The session will begin with a few warm-up exercises to sharpen perspective, then transition into painting the landscape using a preferred medium, such as watercolors, pastels, acrylics, or oils. Pastels will also be provided. This will be a wonderful opportunity to create art in an inspiring natural setting.
