This two-part workshop will consist of a beginner’s classroom session followed by a field session. The classroom session will cover the basics of planning, equipment, camera settings, composition, and post-processing for astrophotography, with a focus on capturing images of the Milky Way. After a break, participants will meet at Buffalo Park to practice photographing the night sky.
5:00-6:00pm : Beginner’s class at Coconino Center for the Arts. Bring your camera if you have one (recommended but not required). Maximum 12 participants, reservation required.
7:00-8:30pm: Field session at Buffalo Park. We will meet at the ramada before a short walk to a shooting location. Bring a camera (with manual mode), tripod, red light (red headlamp is recommended), and warm clothing. Open to all experience levels, no reservation required.
