Arizona Philharmonic principal timpanist, Maria Flurry along with award-winning Bensen Kwan on steel pan (a participant in the Panorama Semi-Finals Competition in Trinidad/Tobago) and Joshua Ferrell on percussion (a Master’s Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas in Denton) comprise Manos, a percussion ensemble dedicated to performing a variety of different genres. Flurry notes that, “we are all classically trained musicians, unleashing our creative sides to explore this rich collaboration.”
Percussionists Owen Davis and Rob Wallace have performed together as a duo since 2016. Their aesthetic draws on eclectic musical traditions, infused with the spirit of free improvisation and the exploration of sound and timbre. Davis and Wallace co-curate the Interference Series, and have performed and recorded with a wide variety of artists from around the globe.
