The Political and the Cultural Frontera
Chilean artist Francisco González Castro, Ph.D., presents an artist talk on the multi-genre project Bodies, Limits & Transgressions. The presentation will discuss the artist’s philosophy, which confronts the body, people who reject the body, and how the body is approached as subject and identity in his creative practice that utilizes video, performance art, and drawing. The artist will be joined by cultural historian Marco Cabrera Geserick, Ph.D., to provide the broader Latin American political and geographical context on the topics that González Castro is pursuing in his work. Cabrera Geserick, Ph.D. is Assistant Professor of Humanities and Latin American Studies Program Coordinator at Northern Arizona University.
