Seeking independent youth bands (ages 13-18) in all genres to participate in the 2024 Youth Battle of the Bands at Coconino Center for the Arts.

We invite your band to submit its best song to be reviewed by music professionals, for the opportunity to perform in the Battle of the Bands for a chance to win an array of promotional opportunities! Deadline to submit is Friday, February 16!

Youth Arts 2024

Coinciding with YOUTH ARTS 2024, Coconino Center for the Arts will host the 3rd annual Battle of the Bands exclusively featuring youth performers (ages 13-18, living in Coconino or Yavapai counties). Bands submitted their best song to be reviewed by music professionals, for the chance to perform in the Battle of the Bands for a chance to win an array of promotional opportunities. Join us for the performance on March 2nd to vote!

Objective

To showcase young musicians in our community in a fun and healthy competition to be juried by local music professionals and voted on by their peers.

What is a Band?

A group of people working together to play music that can consist of many different musical instruments and genres. A band collaborates to use the form of music to express a unifying message. A band will connect a group of listeners through their individual style and sound.

Performance

• Battle of the Bands performance during the Youth Arts exhibition opening reception on March 2nd
• Each band plays a live, 15 minute set
• Performances will take place in the CCA theater and live-streamed

Winners and Prizes

• Winners will be determined by vote-by-text from the live and on-line audiences and will be announced following the performances
• 1^st place band plays an encore set
• Winning bands receive an array of prizes and opportunities from local music professionals toward band promotion and production

Restrictions

• Submissions or performances cannot contain the following (based on Arizona School Boards Association Student Policies): images or language including profanity, hate speech, and pornography; images or language depicting or advocating violence or the use of alcohol or drugs. Music or performance containing any prohibited material will be disqualified. Interpretation of content is at the sole discretion of CCA staff.
