The Four Corners unifies the cultures and territories of the southwestern United States, similar to the four corners of a quilt joining together layers of fabric. Quilts were considered a treasured commodity on the frontier, and throughout history different cultures have adopted the quilt as a form of utility and expression. Four Corners Quilt Exhibition is a study of how quilters choose to manipulate historic as well as modern techniques for a contemporary audience. It was open in the summer of 2013 at the Coconino Center for the Arts.
