Youth Arts 2023: Time, Place & Perspective
Coinciding with YOUTH ARTS 2023: Time, Place & Perspective, Coconino Center for the Arts will host the 2nd annual Battle of the Bands exclusively featuring youth performers (ages 14-18, living in Coconino or Yavapai counties). Bands submitted their best song to be reviewed by music professionals, for the chance to perform in the Battle of the Bands for a chance to win an array of promotional opportunities. Join us for the performance on March 4th to vote!
Objective
To showcase young musicians in our community in a fun and healthy competition to be juried by local music professionals and voted on by their peers.
What is a Band?
A group of people working together to play music that can consist of many different musical instruments and genres. A band collaborates to use the form of music to express a unifying message. A band will connect a group of listeners through their individual style and sound.
Performance
- Battle of the Bands performance during the Youth Arts exhibition opening reception on March 4th
- Each band plays a live, 15 minute set
- Performances will take place in the CCA theater and live-streamed
Winners and Prizes
- Winners will be determined by vote-by-text from the live and on-line audiences and will be announced following the performances
- 1st place band plays an encore set
- Winning bands receive an array of prizes and opportunities from local music professionals toward band promotion and production
